Stewed Granny Smith apples are just delicious at anytime of the day…
This recipe is so versatile. You can add dried fruit, make a pie or crumble, serve it with breakfast cereal…its a great staple to have on hand.
8 granny smith apples
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of water
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Peel and core apples and cut into eight’s
Place apples into your saucepan with sugar, water, cloves and the cinnamon.
Simmer this gently for 10 minutes. You want your apples to be soft- Not mushy!
You can serve this hot straight away with lovely vanilla ice cream or greek yogurt!
